ReplyDeleteIve theorized that the same activation sequence OLW used on the Tecthulhu was the same one used to merge Klue and ADA, as they combined so did OLW with an entity. If he were to interface with the portal network and spread this influence, like a virus, i fear agents who glyph hack this sequence could be at risk.

I feel that Tecthulu was becoming active either way, as we received a message from the being in New York before Oliver Lynton-Wolfe fully activated the thing. We were already at risk, already within its influence before the anomaly.... Even before we had the ability to effect it, it was still able to contact us. I do not doubt that he has given it power but i do not think the agents efforts were in vain.... If any thing, i believe his true plan was delayed.
ReplyDeleteI do not believe Oliver would have truly given it to anyone but rather used it to some how give life to A Detection Algorithm, who we have heard very little from and know was working with him before the attack on her. It's only speculation, but i think the better question would be what would be the benefits of him giving this power away... And Who could he control if he were to give it to them? I do not believe he would ever give it to either of our faction leads. He would never benefit from that and Oliver is very much about advancing his own power and knowledge before anyone else.
Tecthulus effect on people may yet to be seen but i do not think is impossible. I truly believe that the being has already reached out to the agents, through the missions in New York and the new Glyph sequences before Oliver even gave it the power he intended.... If it was the being that entered our scanners and gave us these messages... I do fear what else it could do, now that it has a bit more power.... Or more... Who else will try to harness its power for their own.

If it spreads like a virus (i prefer the term (xm)nanobots when talking about a machine) what are they trying to accomplish? Infecting scanners/portals/agents? For what purpose?

It is possible that the three briefcases were a trap. Is it possible that we helped unwittingly to rescue parts of the techthulu by assembling the puzzle? Maybe.
Had Lynton-Wolfe already begun to spread his knowledge about the creation of the Tecthulhu - who would he have given or sold this knowledge to and how might they use it?
To answer this question we only have to know who has payed the bills. I wouldn't be surprised to see Visur, Hulong or IQ Tech in this case being involved again.

Definately yes. What makes me sure about? First of all remember Dr. Viktor Kureze's study about a modulated signal within exotic matter which interfaces with the human mind - the so called “Shaper Mind Virus”. Not much is known about Dark XM but if we read the techthulu poem we can detect a sentence: I GROW IN MINDS AS AN IDEA
Is it possible that techthulu function like a dark xm mind virus? I think so. No doubts why Devra Bogdanovich opposed OLW.

Oliver is too narcissistic to give his plans to anyone else. If they did come into someone else's possession, it was through other means (perhaps Nigel's research was recovered). I think it more likely that some sort of entity was created or attracted by the machine, and it now dwells in the portal network. Just a hunch, of course, but it could easily influence people into the creation of other machines with XM.

ReplyDeleteSpontaneosly, I think not. The Tecthulhu has been been build after extensive research of Nigel Moyer, from which OLW benefitted. Now the Acolyte benefits from OLW´s work. Considering OLW´s character, I think it would be hard to get him to share his secrets. Scientific ethics would call for knowledge to be distributed, but OLW falls short in this category. But I don´t see him selling secrets for profit, for he values knowledge only as long as he´s the only one who has got it.

As far as affecting the "normal" agents, I don´t think so. If any agents become affected, I suppose it will be those of the NWR. But there´s something which has changed - the Portal Network. It has started to give more keys than one per portal when glyphed. Could this be an effect of the XM that was pumped into the Network after the destruction of the Tecthulhu?
The Techthulu is a means of creating a technological and biological hybrid but with the focus through technological means. Unfortunately this means that the NWR agents that helped ADA are going to be the first affected when another techthulu comes around
ReplyDeleteAnother thought just came to me thinking about the latest glyph drill down, "create new portal potential future." Looking at that picture, the green clusters of lights are deployed in resonator like formations. Could it be that the Tecthulhu is a new type of portal, of which there will be many, that is about to emerge? A Dark XM portal??
ReplyDeleteThe image is like a kaleidoscope with glowing beads/seeds inside, that multiply due to the mirrors reflecting everything in a symmetrical pattern. Not sure what the mirrors are made of but destructing a mirror surface or sphere might result in hundreds of shards reflecting light. Trying to destroy the Tecthulhu might have created many smaller versions of it.
ReplyDeleteOLW might have tried to market his results, or a XM company might have obtained it in the way they have been known to do it in the past and this will result in XM artifacts manufactured by one of the XM companies, and they might be distributed through the portal network, so directly affecting agents.

ReplyDeleteI want to one of the first (?) To shut down the portals permanently. No side should have this dangerous xm. It need to be stopped. It is harming this dimension. We dragons should of started to protect this realm in dealing with the leaks by closing the holes. We call ourselves gaurdians? Protectors? More like destroyers.
