The final message from the NIA operatives in Cross Plains to Hank Johnson: "Hank. The Enlightened Agents TwoColorCrayon and pincushion1 met us this morning and have taken possession of the artifact, as well as any intel we had to share. It was a relief to see them, but our smiles bely the worry that they now carry a grave burden... one that nearly drove us to the brink..."

Another intercepted transmission from the group of NIA operatives to Hank Johnson: "Hank -- we have been studying the artifact. It came to life in strange ways during the storm last night. Blue and green lightning lit up the sky and the tome began to react unpredictably. We lack the strength to remove the artifact from here -- it has already affected us in powerful ways. We are tempted to destroy it, but such a powerful object may summon untold forces to defend itself... If an Agent finds us in Cross Plains on Saturday we will pass it to them. Perhaps they can continue our work..."

Another intercepted message to Hank Johnson from the group of NIA operatives: "Hank -- storm coming this way -- a big one.. Diodati class... Someone or something does not want us here. We are falling back to basecamp. Will return to the dig site when it's safe. REH was more of a sensitive than any of us knew... His visions may help us more than we first thought."

A source intercepted a message to Hank Johnson sent from a group of NIA operatives: "Hank -- your input on the dig was incredibly valuable. Safe travels. The work here must continue. We'll investigate until Saturday night and see if we uncover anything additional. REH was onto something..." Hank -- care to comment?
