It's be nice to redeem one once and awhile, spend the time to do the digging and decode a little, yet always fully redeemed, even within minutes of the post going live. It's comforting to see the fully redeemed messages confirming you got them right, but still leaves a bit of a question of why bother?
ReplyDeleteHm, I'm not sure if I'd necessarily consider this fully fledged AI, not like ADA, who actually has sentience. As for the argument that it has nothing to gain or learn from us, that's easily disproven, ADA has been seen to ask questions and value our input every bit as much as we do hers.
ReplyDeleteWhat intrigues me the most about this article was the story of the "ghost moves" used to win an unlikely game, sound like shaper influence to anybody else?
The N'zeer seem to be giving us the means with which to create more advanced AI, but how we go about doing so is entirely up to us. Now the shapers, when they put ideas in our minds, we're essentially forced to follow these paths, look at Roland Jarvis, he clearly lost all sense of free will after he went into the portal network.
This is where the two forces differ the most to me, the N'zeer are /giving/ us the means of advanced ideas, while the shapers are /forcing/ it.
I don't know if I necessarily trust the N'zeer entirely, but they've been less ambiguous in their actions thus far, plus they are the enemy of the shapers, which means the shapers may be too busy fighting them to meld our minds as much. So for now, I think their presence is useful.
The Enlightened say the shapers are saviors of humankind, but that their influence caused a witness to vomit blood... Yeah, that doesn't sit well with me.
We shouldn’t fear AI. But embrace it. Just because it isn’t exactly like us, doesn’t mean it’s something to fear. AI is something we need, to further advance humanity. We must be cautious. That is it.
