I spoke about the similarities between what Roland Jarvis' resurrection required and what Techthulhu believes is necessary for it to be born, and these similarities are manifold with what we have learned in the course of the Investigation.

What if the conflicts of our history have been engineered?

Another strain of thought. Techthulhu is a being which both the Shapers and N'zeer have evidently acted to stop. Perhaps it is a parasite -- or even the ultimate Parasite, evolved to predate on the Ultimate, the substrate, XM, Dark-XM, human minds, and our own dimensional layer is merely one of many it wishes to colonize.
It needs to be in our minds.
It needs to be in our machines.
It is already in the XM and dark-XM suffusing our dimensional layer, and the Simulacra and even the sensitives are its potential tools.
Such a thing waits beyond the doorways for a species to evolve which can act as its memetic substrate. And owing to its own acausal nature, it may only need to exist in our world for a very short span of time to infect it up and down the timeline. In precious seconds of even imperfect existence, it could affect the chains of causality of our entire history, just to make itself more likely to be born.
The world we see now may have its thumbprints all over it -- an unborn god, so close now to engineering its own final birth, and then this world will belong to the Many.
Not a heartwarming thought.

One final note -- given that OLW went to Argentina to find die Glocke's dark XM reserves in order to ostensibly end Roland Jarvis -- why has no one pointed out that Borges was a devotee of Lovecraft, even devoting a story to him?
