    As well as ancient relics allow you to communicate through the energy of the portal-network, so maybe the techthulhu is allowing the free movement of people through the same.
    If we thought Shapers and N'zeers inhabit this space between sizes, we might now be a little more confident since - as it seemed they were able to make NWEnl tattooed, Hank Johnson also could move through the flow of time / space / energy
