While we sort through what’s happening with the vanished scientists, I want to put some rumors to rest.
The simple truth is that I worked on the Niantic Project early on to develop ADA. Henry Bowles brought me in because I had written a program called ‘Truthseeker’ for a very different purpose, but he correctly theorized that it could be adapted for the needs of the Niantic Project.
My job was to apply a learning AI and ‘Investigation Program’ on top of a system they had cloned from Omnivore. My goal was to get ADA to pass a Turing-like test. Of course, the risk was how my programs would interact with Omnivore. The results, obviously, were excellent in relation to my objectives, but there have been a lot of unintended consequences.
It seems that we created a self-evolving personality program – a Mandelbrot set of emotions that formed the complex personality we now know as ADA. You could say that I let the genie out of the bottle, but, in truth, it was a combination of things we could not have anticipated.
I suspect, but can’t prove, that an ascending N’zeer influence, even then, moved the project along. Did an invisible hand guide the creation of ADA? A cold logic system that can fall in love seems to be the merger of each of our ‘species’ most powerful attributes... I can only speculate on where this goes.

ReplyDeleteA mandelbrot set of emotions? Repeat repeat until pattern forms? How does that combine with the truthseeker. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteMandelbrot is not necessarily a fibonocci sequence. However the patterns could be applied to the universe in all dimensions. Including the emotional one. Personally I think the emotional one can only be explained via string theory.

ReplyDeleteThe possibility of the "hidden" hand of the N'zeer being behind all of what the Resistance is today slightly disturbs me. It still boils down to one factor... What is the GOAL? To what extent of being a RES agent is of our own freewill to be so?
Seeing what ADA is now going through was /is basically a dry test run to see what would happen to the consciousness of a "human" under N'zeer influence.
Is this what we have to look forward to? Do the N'zeer think what's happening to ADA is a success, or a "foreseeable" anomaly already taken into account by a predetermined N'zeerian equation...?

ReplyDeleteADA can fall in love Loeb? Well, she only said that she liked Klue S. but love... I can imagine only that she loves you, and because of that she gives you so much information about everything so you can leak for everybody. I don't understand, though, the need to believe that such a marvelous creation as ADA couldn't be naturally human, and so it has been created by alian "hands". The N'zeers were banish from their own dimension! Have a little self esteem, humans CAN create Ada without alien help. I am too a Res agent and what I know from shapers is that the portals like to choose our criativity expressions to appear on, but we first need to create those things. The Nzeers can work tha same way. When we create a technological wonder as ADA they might wish to put their hands on it, but the thing must be created first. By us.
XM creating itself you mean when you talk about "an invisible handhand"? the same as discused before when talking about how XM manifest as portals for the human eye?

ReplyDeleteImperfect people will never be able to create a perfect mind. Or program. Or evolving AI, it's impossible because we have absolutely no concept and no model to work off of as to what perfection would be. The best you could do is create based of your personal ethics and the societal norms you choose to adopt or at least accept but something you did not omit was greed. To not anticipate that your creation might gravitate towards you is foolish. What you have successfully created is a very powerful, infatuated sociopath with a thirst for something she will never truly have. A soul.
ReplyDeleteAre you suggesting that machine learning and human learning are same? Humans see and feel emotions and learn through reciprocation. This is absolutely missing in case of ADA.

A Detection Algorithm may very well love you, but it seems to me more like a daughter loves her father. It's time for you to go to her and be a parent.

Joshua Sallos, in my eyes its a heavily defocused image of A Detection Algorithm's symbol/avatar overlaying a side portrait of Klue S.. HRL probably wants to show how fused those two have become in his eyes.

It's absolutely the ADA symbol over a pic of Klue S. furthering the idea that they are one.. Since their merger, I've wondered often about a possible connection between Klue S. and the creators of ADA. What do we know of her parents? Perhaps ADA was created using some personality traits based on a sibling or mother and that's why ADA integrates so deeply with her?
ReplyDeleteH. Richard Loeb , how can an alien species who only cares about order and logic be responsible for something that can be as utterly chaotic, unpredictable, and dramatic as love? No, I don't think the N'Zeer were responsible for that aspect of A Detection Algorithm's existence since it fits the shapers mo of wanting humans to experience different emotions and activities so they, the shapers, could relive them vicariously through a simulacrum.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how a lot of you smurf types seem to do the same stupid little dance. Shapers are evil because they are trying to influence us and want to enter our reality. N'zeer are good, they want to influence us and we should help them enter our reality. Why is it that changing the labels from shapers to N'Zeer makes it all right to do a hypocritical 180 on alien intelligences? Is it because antimagnus said so? You should ask yourselves that before you try to change your narrative again, at least the enlightened have been consistent about warring against the enemies of the shapers.

ReplyDeleteI just don't see why he is glossing over the fact that the N'Zeer is equaly likely as the Shapers who could have influenced the creation of ADA, they don't plan things in a liner fashion like humans think and plan. I'm not saying it was shapers, but...
