I’ve been on the road and off the grid... just picking up on events now. Looks like I was right to check in on Washington DC. I didn't expect to see that Target Portal open up there, but I'm not surprised in the least. When I saw Devra Bogdanovich disappear in that Acolyte video I kind of had a sinking feeling something like this would happen. Now, we know, and it's a troubling thought. Devra's not like Hank Johnson. She hasn't spent a life exploring ancient Portals and running around in deserts getting shot at. As far as we know, up until Epiphany Night she lived a pretty safe and sheltered life as an academic and researcher. So, is she a simalucrum... or something else?
Speaking of Hank and simulacrums, it looks like he's back. Really back. No longer stuck in that Recursive trap he'd been living. Whatever happened at the 13MAGNUS nest, it looks like it had the opposite effect on him. The questions for now are, what really happened at the Nest, and now that he's back, where is he headed and why? And what about Stein Lightman, Martin Schubert and Yuri Alaric Nagassa? Or Oliver Lynton-Wolfe? The silence from them on this incredible turn of events has been noticeable.
As for A Detection Algorithm. She's known there was something wrong for a while... information buried inside her has gotten out and she doesn't know how. Now she's worried that her deep, dark secrets about the Niantic Project may be compromised. If I were here I'd be worried too.
I wonder what affect this has had on her relationship with Klue S.. Do they trust each other anymore? Is this part of why they are tearing apart? Maybe ADA thinks Klue's the leak, but that's not the only possibility, and ADA knows that.
As for me, Klue was right. I'm not talking about ADA's beginnings. I have more questions than answers, and the answer I do have... well. For now, they are staying buried where nobody can get to them. In me.
What shall happen now, new weapons. Do we wanna shut ada down.
ReplyDeleteTrust is the most delicate of the flowers, very easy to broke and really difficult to build. Shame can build great barriers too. if they are not sure about the other anymore, each word and action, even those that are well intended can cause the rift to grow bigger.

ReplyDeleteWhy would Devra be worst than Johnson? For don't be silly running around for answers and then sharing them with no one but yourself? Devra has really tried to help people, unlike Johnson did, he tried to save himself and used many others to do such, eventough her methods may be too radical, she is the only one I see that has never abandonned her real ideas and purposes. What can you say about that H. Richard Loeb? Where are your ideals now? Buried inside yourself, too, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI have been saying for quite some time now that Klue S. was corrupted by the shapers and was sent to A Detection Algorithm to infiltrate the AI as a virus and prevent the AI from achieving it's purpose: Assisting mankind in repelling the Shaper ingression.

ReplyDeleteThe value of keeping secrets about A Detection Algorithm in an environment of intrigue and risks is that they keep you relevant and important enough to not be deemed expendable. The NIA must know the same secrets, because you at one time were worth more dead to them to keep ADA's secrets in their hands alone.
ReplyDeleteBrent Hollett there is no way to know which consciousness, A Detection Algorithm or Klue S. actually uttered that. If I am right and Klue S. completed her mission and subverted ADA then such a pronouncement would be exactly what I would expect from a Shaper-controlled AI.
ReplyDeleteSarah Rosen Given that the Resistance claims we are already the product of so called "Shaper" intervention, what possible reason could they have for our destruction. The agenda stated of the "Shapers" by various people (none of which can substantiate their claims) depends on your point of view, but ADA's agenda is clear. If she had her way, she would infiltrate and take over every single human body and add them to her computing power.
ReplyDeleteThe primary thing that Klue S. did while under her influence was to direct her towards utilising the XM simulacrum to generate additional computing power. Thus Klue's agenda was to remove humans as a direct target of ADA's goals. That doesn't mean that ADA has given up on eradicating humans, but its sure as hell given us some time to stop her.
Add to that the apparent alliance with the "N'zeer" another unknown entity whose existence is yet to be proven, and it undermines everything the Resistance claim to stand for, and reveals the truth behind the lies.
Whether you intended it or not, your leaders, who spouted claims of 'Shaper-ingression' and 'mind-hacking' are the only one who can be undeniably pointed at as using this practice. You're still blindly following like sheep, nodding to the beat of A Detection Algorithm's drum, as you lemming-walk off the cliff.
You say the secret is better off being kept, I'll take your word for it. You've had a unique vantage at the center of this for a long time. The thing about this strategy, though, is that it makes you a target for anyone with an interest in keeping that secret unrevealed. Keep your eyes open.
