Nearly a year ago, a brave and brilliant researcher’s career came to a sudden end, and I miss her. Her name was Carrie Campbell.
She reached into signals from the unknown and revealed one of the most powerful mysteries to emerge from the Niantic Project: The Shaper Glyphs. Her gift was language, symbols and the fabric of understanding, and she wielded it with grace and power.
The last time we met was in Chicago, the site of the #Helios Anomaly less than a day away. The Portals there will activate tomorrow, and Agents will leverage the power of XM to plot our path into the future. I can't help but wonder... Why there? Why now? Could it have something to do with Carrie Campbell's last message to us all?
She gave her life protecting us all after the emergence of the 'Shaper Self-Destruct code,' a Glyph message with the power to end civilizations. Some have contested the nature of that threat, but I believe it was real. I also believe that when Carrie unleashed the power of the Glyphs to fight back the Shaper message, she knew that her act was a sacrifice for the greater good of us all.

ReplyDeleteWhen you screw with the circle of life, you mess with the natural order of things. Let the dead stay dead, they have earned their rest. Attempting to bring her back cheapens her sacrifice to the point of a mockery.

Yik Sheng Lee this is my take, but what Devvie B is doing is akin to taking out all cellphone satellites to put an end to road accidents caused by distracted driving. It's a wee bit extreme.

ReplyDeleteSia Abderezai This has been my point since the start. Yes, it is rational to fight a "disease vector" which the XM concentrations around resonated petals would be, but it is short sighted. At least so far, though, the virus isn't destroying the portals we have access to outright.

ReplyDeleteShe was indeed amazing, and without regard for her own safety she advanced our knowledge light-years beyond what it had been. There is of course much we don't know - who are the Shapers, really? Who is sending these glyph messages, and why are they sometimes contradictory? - but then, the road to knowledge is neverending. Unfortunately, without Carrie Campbell, we're without one of our best guides.

ReplyDeleteTom Lee technically speaking the person we know as Roland Jarvis is a counterfeit humanoid construct since he was not every Jarvis shard reached Cupid's Span. The creators of the construct were not shapers, it was the enlightened with the aid of Oliver Lynton-Wolfe .
ReplyDeleteTom Lee, I feel Roland Jarvis is and is not a counterfeit. There are many aspects of humans that exist on multiple dimensional planes, and for all intents and purposes the Roland that we have now is the REAL Roland Jarvis, but perhaps out of sync with this space and time.
ReplyDeleteI agree with, Mario Valenzuela II that Jarvis has become... Less than whole... I feel his alignment with the "Ultimate" has weakened, and that has impacted how he makes decisions... In this state there is no benefit for the #Resistance or the #Enlightened ...

ReplyDelete+Bill Robitske that's the curious part, i personally view portals as disease vectors at all but as critical nodes of the exo bodo that makes up & represents the human gradient as a whole with volatile portals being akin to lymph nodes and XM being the data that can guage the node's health and history. Doctor Bogdanovich is viewing the symptoms AS THE DISEASE and has taken it upon herself to remove these critical nodes entirely regardless of what or who controls it which may make things Much much worse. I really doubt Chaotic XM needs the existence of portals to spread and influence the human psyche and without nodes to detect XM behavior we are more in the dark over the millue of dangers and benefits of shaper tech. Even now ADA is realizing the benefit and why Shapers are so invested in the human evolutionary trajectory and views us less as obsolete children and more as batteries or ASIC computing chips. Better than extermination i suppose ;)
ReplyDeleteTom Lee if the newly discovered artifacts are what I think it is that may def help answer some of those questions. The quick animation i saw of the sphere with the glyph inscriptions on rotating triangular sides. To me that looks like an elaborate cypher box/ rosetta stone. The placing of these rotating sides in relation to other ones may help shed some light into the Shaper language and syntax and why the messages are contradictory.
