In my mind, there are three forces colliding in the journey that leads down the road of 'artificial intelligence' and towards the creation of 'synthesized minds.'

  2. The article brings up many valid points. And then I see what you said, and those bring much more to the surface. You are right about the first one, the article does focus much on that. The second, I know what you are saying. But I think the redacted report went a bit further. I agree about the third. That is what The Acolyte and Jarvis represent strongly.

  3. I think the biggest barrier in this is human fear and control. We have been taught to fear what we can't understand or control, especially if its something we create.

Our society has this belief that if we create something we have to have full control over it, that we can't allow it to develop or grow in ways we haven't set up ourselves. If we have created it, we need to have a full understanding of it, or we need to completely take it apart and put limits on it until we understand it. Humans are obsessive with this and honestly i believe part of it comes from how we have been raised or have been taught in our society.

We are taught to take full control of our lives, if we dont like something we are told get rid of it. We are taught to have as much control over every aspect of our lives and if we dont have control then we are responsible for some one else gaining that control and we also have to take responsibility for if that some one abuses that control.

If we fear something, we either get taught to overcome that fear or destroy it in any way possible. We dont honestly have a full understanding that destroying it doesnt always get rid of it... The human mind is capable of fearing something far past its ability to exist.

I think we need to move past the desire to control everything and to let go of fears before they control us themselves, in order to really understand the things we need to understand when it comes to multiple advancements in our technology and lives. But i also feel that having some fear and control isnt bad.... We dont all want to end up like Oliver Lyton Wolfe now do we?
