Wouldn't it be better called "Exogenous Mind Virus" at this point, considering the knowledge of more races than the Shapers?

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't go so far as to say the mind virus is why we think as other organisms think and remember as well or better than we do. Some, like cephalopods, have distributed that power across their entire bodies.
A Popular theory about the Brain Evolution is that it was caused by Spores from outer space that grown into Mushrooms consumed by early human.

It could be possible that XM "saw" what plants and fungi were doing and with sending nutrients and/or warnings through the water and air. Then copied such data into us, then watched us evolve to use and abuse.
ReplyDeleteThis is facinating. We know that the Shaper Mind Virus goes one of two ways, it either assists with memory or it destroys your mind. But that is rare. This may be the explanation is and many researchers are looking for. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe looked into this... No one believed him.
ReplyDeleteHuman evolution was first driven by individual intelligence, but as society developed social intelligence became a higher priority to natural selection. Perhaps that's what got Shaper attention. The symbol they have for themselves means either Shaper or collective. So they seem to indentify more with the group.
