While most people will associate the name Schrödinger with a certain cat and either its untimely demise or its good luck -- Erwin Schrödinger introduced us to humanity a more important concept -- one that has tremendous implications as we uncover the true…

  1. While I enjoy these theoretical questions, we've already seen from our present that the alignment of a person with a given factional force can vary wildly based on time spent in anomalous zones.

Assigning a specific faction to the man who first hypothesized that the entire universe exists in a superposition of states until we observe them seems like a fraught exercise.

  2. While I admire Schrödinger for his work on the quantum theory, his thoughts on multiversums were futile, seen scientifically. This theory could not be disproven, making it invalid. Regarding Schrödingers whole work, I would put him with the RES.His scientific insides were more the result of hard work than a sudden insight.

  3. Schrödinger was both RES and ENL until you asked...

  6. Unfortunately anything to with the Enlightened ideas within the game [aka shaper save me] cannot be proved and in the end requires a leap of faith thereby leading to the eventuality of intellectual fervor found on the Enlightened side [ I am correct and everyone else is..the answer is 42] Currently we have forward thinking individuals on the planet such as Elon Musk who support the simulated multiverse concept where we live in a computer simulated multiverse. Stephen Hawking and Neil deGrasse Tyson both support multiverse possibilities. I tend to support a quilted concept of the multiverse where infinite possibilities exist. Regardless humanity is shallow at best and will always take the path of least resistance in an effort to continue its existence and in that moment every agent of humanity is Resistance. We seek to maintain our self - we don't really care who saves us be it shapers or humanity, we believe in humanity , we believe in ourselves in the end. I don't care which faction you belong to only humanity wins anomalies. Whether you love alien influence or hate it just us in the end.
Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. We're all going to die. Lets go play Ingress.

  7. I would have to say Schrödinger is Enlightened. By what he did, it appears he was being influenced by something.

  8. Definitely Enlightened. He is there for the uncertainty and not against of it while embracing it. It is perfectly aligned with XM researches which Resistance is totally against it cause it could destabilise the world.

  10. Until we open his scanner, he is assumed to be both Enlightened and Resistance.

  11. ENL.

Jarvis left us many messages about waves, vibration, and existing in multiple states simultaneously. He was Schroedinger's cat for a while being neither live or dead as a construct, no? Schroedinger also worked in psychology. Does ADA--or any of the other RES creations--have native thoughts, imaginations, or feelings* that would necessitate that kind of awareness? Doubtful: just data and probabilties. Schroedinger's work is beyond yes or no and p-values.

    * Loeb's monster plays at being afraid or comisserating but has no understanding of feelings or desire, just whatever data it recorded trying to steal from Clu while it was in there and the objectively measured decrease in functionality after being separated from the substrate.

  12. The paradox is funny 😀 but Schrödinger is about probability. His work came from his own introspection and didn't seek assistance from others. Schrödinger relates to RES because his competence was autonomous.

  13. Kobalt Blues AI heavily depends on psychology...

Only in the sense that it is an approach to trying to emulate intelligence or reasoning to improve processes.

I was speaking strictly about how psychology is applied to humans--especially thoughts and feelings--which would be the ENL domain and something AI knows nothing about beyond observation because 1s and 0s have neither despite elegant construction. The articles about AI not being actual intelligence and our tendency to project thought where there is none that have been posted recently support that.

  15. Kobalt Blues I recommend you familiarise yourself with the relationship of thoughts and feelings of psychology to cybernetics and AI just for your interest sake and application, not actually disproving your supposition why one would want Schrödinger to identify as ENL

I would recommend that, even though I only cite resources related to the game, you not assume that is the limit of my exploration of a topic.

  17. It was hard to me to determine what to vote. Probably because i am a physicist and the physicist Schrödinger was an important part in my career. However, I investigated him as a man and I discovered many aspect of his research interests, beyond Physics, that make me vote him as an ENL because of the mindblowing, "out-of-the-box" theories he stated in Biology what made me understand what was the real concept of Nature he had. He was mainly an observer, a very sharp one and it was the way he formulated his theories and not the tools he used what finally decide my vote. He obtained the Physics Nobel Prize in 1933 together with P.A.M. Dirac who was definitely for me RES aligned. Surprisingly a nice XF phenomena!
