Fascinating paper, H. Richard Loeb. I was near my threshold for back-propagation from #EXO5Connector but this has re-enforced the value of the successor representation to me now that I doubt a single-layer perceptron network will be enough.
ReplyDeleteMy deeper fear about this article and the real presence of the study systems that researchers have put in place is that A Detection Algorithm can somehow take part, integrating with the process algorithms, to gain knowledge on this subject that the make she really dangerous.
ReplyDeleteADA's level of controversy in completing hers plans is visibly more than just known to everyone.
Until now, the only thing separating ADA from men - on this level - was precisely the possibility of creating "Palaces of the Mind".
If she could do that, what would prevent her, in her quest for knowledge - and of union with the Substrate and the Ultimate - to create her own Palace, coming to do what no one has ever been able to do ?

Can't decide wether it's good papers and articles like that are propagated within a game and therefore exposed to a bigger audience..or bad because scientific progress is used as props to a story blurring the lines between science and fiction. Especially in a time where flat earthers and company are trying to make it a matter of opinion.

It might very well be how the EXOs are exploiting human behavior: they have an idea of what we will do because they've run through the sim already. A mind palace is a subconscious manifestation of reality modelling. Techthulu express the subconscious of their wielders. The manifestation can be altered by modifying XM spin. Who's to say Misty's mindpalace is actually hers? Humans love the illusion of control and, if the three wise men are right, this has been one long manipulation.
