ReplyDeleteWell, the article does say that the signal might be coming from an earth satellite or something that is making scientist believe it comes from Ross 128 when it fact it doesn't. So the possibility that they are misplacing the signal AGAIN as you seem to be implying H. Richard Loeb is very possible.
ReplyDeleteThere are many possibilities so as to what this signal could be due to its almost periodic nature. It could be from an attempt of communication to the rhythm produced by the functioning of an alien (I'm using "alien" not so as to mean "from outer space", I just don't want to say "exogenous" just yet since that word has become much more constrained in our current context) mechanism. Both possibilities are very interesting. But if it truly comes from the Exogenous I would tend to believe more the latter because they already have glyphs to communicate -however rudimentarily - with us.
This sort of worries me...
