It looks like the upcoming MAGNUS: REAWAKENS event has started to get some attention in the intel community... It'll be interesting to see what they uncover...

  3. The only down side to an open source with the NIA is will it be used for other purposes... But - what specifically might the open source investigation look like - meaning what would be areas to focus and what mediums would be useful to collect/sort/annotate the research?

  4. also - made a wiki page for the MAGNUS: REAWAKENS event https://niantic.schlarp.com/events:magnus_reawakens - nothing there yet - but feel free to add to it AKA open source investigating ;)

(if not into wiki editing - feel free to send me stuff to be added) and can make other wiki pages to aid in the investigation.

  5. (It'll be interesting if anything plot line changes after this event. It's the perfect opportunity to recreate a cast of new sensitives.)

I'm predicting a usual enl slant of an event with a possible stoic/chaotic neutral appearance by OLW. And a schizophrenic ADA.

  6. Yik Sheng Lee, you say that at the center of an Anomalous Zone there is a MAGNUS. Is it so? Isn't it all the way around? Meaning, if there is a MAGNUS somewhere, an Anomalous Zone will be formed, but there could be Anomalous Zones formed by other means.
I've also read other people claiming Tecthulhus are always attached to MAGNUS in some way, but... How did Calvin create his MAGNUS? Which Tecthulhu did he use? Moyer's?

What if MAGNUSES can create Anomalous Zones and Tecthulhus also, but of a different nature?

  7. I agree with JoJo Stratton and Yik Sheng Lee's sentiments about an open source investigation: that the intel amassed could be freely used by forces with murky intent. Another thing I'd like to add is my confusion as to what an 'open source' investigation with the NIA would look like.

Would the NIA be more transparent in sharing intel? How much barium would be disseminated, if any? Can the NIA use the community while simultaneously discrediting it under their ODD campaign to make Ingress appear as a game to the general public?
