A group of Agents reached out to me earlier today. They told me they were going to create a Portal, and would I like to see it happen. My curiosity was piqued.

  2. Happy new year. Will it be the year where the Enlighted and Resistance work together against common enemies?

  3. Very interesting. "Welcome to the otherside." I bet RES and ENL are unsplitable friend in the otherside. Let's beyond the border! (*´∀`)♪

  4. Is this the first actual sighting of New Wave ENL? Can we trust this information isn't tainted?

    H. Richard Loeb, you really went out to a New Wave cross-faction by yourself without knowing what they were actually doing?

"Welcome to the other side" after building a portal of the "mind" isn't ominous at all. Curiosity killed the cat and you're woefully short on lives after all peculiar events to which your mind's already been a party.

  5. This ceremony closely resembles the custom called "Sagicho" which has been passed down to Japan for a long time.
In this custom known as "Sagicho", generally "Dondo-yaki", on every new year's day, people makes fire at open places, and put amulets and writings used in the previous year into the fire.
In Japan, fire often works like a portal connecting the world to the other world.

  7. The best thing on whose "new kind of Portal" is: real agents have to meet there! No place for spoofers or drone users! Sounds fantastic to me!

  8. Very intriguing.
The New Wave. The fact that they'd just happen to both become gold. XM tends to give everyone that interacts with it similar thoughts. I'll admit, I was just catching up after having been taking a break from investigating this, but one quote really stood out to me - the idea that the current battle isn't exactly green vs blue, but more light vs darkness. Gold, after all, is very reminiscent of the Via Lux anomalies. I'd still be on guard, H. Richard Loeb. "Beware the darkness that follows the light," and all that.
In any case, perhaps this New Wave splinter group is indeed truly working for the betterment of humanity. After all, regardless of faction, XM has a profound effect on the psyche, whether you react to it with acceptance or curiosity. It brings out creativity and light in some, but darkness in others. A shared experience like this... it represents light. A memory of something positive. Something uniting both factions to do good.
The aftereffects of mind portal creation are yet to be seen. Be careful. Whether the New Wave of both factions intend it or not, darkness can follow that light.

  9. And finally we meet the New Wave. Nice to know now agents can gather minds in sort shamanican cerimony. That is according with the possibility to trace ancient relics. Let see where this new wave will pull us.

  10. This was not an adding to the portal network. This was an act of cleansing. Ridding oneself of past wrongs, either to or from another.
The burning of the calendars suggest a letting go of the past and beginning new.
    Ingress is starting over.

  11. Letting go of the past faction differences for a new future. Change Perspective Begin New Journey. :) This must have been a wonderful experience.

  12. A portal of shared human experience. Might this be a cause worth fighting for other than the selfish ambitions of Jahan and the Acolyte, or of the Shapers and the N'zeer?

  13. There was a time when Founder agents used to discover portals...

    ReplyDelete
  14. Massimiliano Mariani and i suppose this just the fictional story behind the agreement on new portal, like you seekers. A new portal seen first in agents minds, more than mere ones, and than approved 'n real and playable for all.

  15. Melissa I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had the Festival in their mind with this story. The work of Obsidius continues...

  16. Sounds like "the New Wave" has descended into New Age irrelevance even faster than most new religions.

Also, what kind of people have enough paper calendars for a bonfire? Good grief, people -- You're Ingress agents! You have more efficient calendars in your phones.

  17. Daeniem Loidlan there is nothing fictional here! Years ago, the scanner was too "young", and many portals could not be seen.
Founder agents had to spot portals looking at real places with particular XM concentration and reporting them, so those minds behind the scanner fixed the anomalies and gave us the (more or less) precise scanner we are using now.
It is not so reliable, by the way, and this is why we need to rebuild a worldwide reporting team...

  18. Massimiliano Mariani Mmmm, i think I think you should re-read my previous post.

I know the history of the scanner, and how early in the game the portals were "sought" and "submitted" by the agents in order to expand their number.

Equally, I have tried to explain how this narrative strand involving the new waves is nothing less than a choice of PLOT written from Niantic to say simply: cool, we just approved a tool that allows agents to level 16 to view the proposals for new portals and vote on them. If the portal takes tot votes we open it.

Does not sound too good, in terms of plot, do you agree? :D Much better the "New Waves CrossFactions Fire New Year Cerimonial meeting".

    ReplyDelete
  19. Daeniem Loidlan are you one of those people who "it's just a game, they're actors, Niantic is a software house, this is all fictional", aren't you?!

I perfectly understood what you are saying. Maybe you did non get my PoV ;)

  20. Massimiliano Mariani ok, got it. But i dont think Nia can really be a light on the real world situation. There are thousand mysteries out there, but this - seekers of new portal - dont think is one of them
