A few days ago I shared why I had gone out on a limb to suggest that New Wave Enlightened (NWE) were present at the Portal creation ceremony on New Year's. Many of you shared some incredibly astute observations that I felt deserved highlighting.

ReplyDeleteI would say that there is no difference. Because there is this thing about Enlightenment... It is constantly growing and therefore you would be in a constant cycle of growth from the beginning of your Enlightenment. The term "New Wave" doesn't work for the Enlightened because it is like saying we started to grow when we are already growing.
B-dub 7ER4IAY8 The cycle of Enlightenment ebbs and flows, like the tide... each "new wave" washing against the beach, grinding down mountains as it caresses each grain of sand. The godhead cycle is as much in the wave as it is in the firsts shoots of spring. Nature has her seasons of birth and growth and her seasons of decay and retreat. A constant striving forward has no time to be enlightened... it meets too much resistance. What of it if this is a new wave? Enlightenment is not only to see the push, it is to see the cycle as it is.

ReplyDeleteIn truth, since PAC doesn't want to use an agent created term that applies, like xmpunk, the only real thing that delineates an agent as being a member of the "new wave" out side of cosmetic theatrics, might be the fact that they all started interacting with XM after people started to have mass hallucinations and claim they had monsters in their pockets.
Seriously, before the term "new wave" was coined, even in the first year of ingress there were agents with LEDs, crude attempts at "cyberware" XM tatoos etc. It wasn't anything new. It wasn't a agent subculture. It was people expressing their shaped nature in various individual ways.
I wonder if these "new wave" really are agents who for whatever reason find themselves adrift in the undertow and are trying to come up with a way to differentiate themselves and make themselves seem more important then they actually are without having to work hard to obtain a position of prominence. It's almost like applying a cheat code or the XM equivalent of a placebo masqueraded as a performance enhancer instead of true enlightenment or the resistance equivalent.
