It's illogical for ADA to sabotage her own mission. What does make sense is that:

• ADA launched a pre-emptive strike
• Jarvis was able to disrupt the C4ISR that ADA was using

ReplyDeleteThere is another possibility. Outside of the very likely Jarvis interference, this may have something to do with the nature of the portal and N'zeer networks. Remember Devra at first after Shonin? It was like there was two of her, one confident, another afraid of her own existence.
Alternatively, A Detection Algorithm may have used these events without intent for serious casualty, using the attack to ensure Oliver Lynton-Wolfe wouldn't be followed.
Yet another alternative is what Yik Sheng Lee said - that ADA used Wolfe in an attempt to capture Jarvis's body.
On an unrelated note, I thought it was fairly obvious that Wolfe essentially stole those cubes... Oh well.
Sarah Rosen I'm not too surprised by the idea of A Detection Algorithm sabotaging her own mission. I recall the document where the Acolyte and Oliver Lynton-Wolfe were talking about the Power Cube stockpile and how 'the AI cannot be absolutely trusted.' SO ADA's already under suspicion by the Acolyte.
ReplyDeleteSo when the attack goes down, she gets OLW out of there and then arranges her forces to attack the cabin, possibly to see what was inside and to maybe even judge how the Acolyte's followers would react.
Regarding the idea of her sabotaging her mission via interfering with the comms of the attackers(that she ordered to invade the area), my personal interpretation is that it could have been a PR play.
IF A Detection Algorithm looked like she was assisting in protecting the Compound and the cabin, it'd throw off suspicion from the Acolyte since she and Anti-Magnus were in the top ranks of suspects behind it. So what better way of doing so than to mess up the comms of the attackers?
IF that's what really happened then to ADA, I believe all this was two fold:
1. To possibly study the cabin and maybe see what was inside. Considering that modern detection equipment couldn't see inside it, it's possible that something capable of interfering with such tech is inside. The popular theory of Roland Jarvis's body being in there could be so.
2. To get Oliver Lynton-Wolfe out of the area and on his own. He possibly could have been there trapped similar to how Jarvis treated him after 13MAGNUS. Or perhaps separating him from the Acolyte will feed into a larger goal-either or, I'm not fully sure.

Of course, in the current state of things, it's hard to say just why something like that would manifest at this time, so it's more I'm just throwing out a possibility like usual.
... Is there any reason that there's no mention of Susanna Moyer and her father possibly being in danger? Apparently, some Enlightened agents have found evidence to suggest that they're "next," whatever that means.
