A source sent this to me, claiming there were more like it out there. Apparently, somewhere along his journey, Obsidius began to send letters to a friend via a series of intermediaries. According to the source, these letters shed light on Obsidius's relationship with Syphax and Cybella as they continued on their long journey for the Magnus.

Syphax was king of ancient Berber tribe Masaesyli of western Numidia (modern Algeria) during the last quarter of the 3rd century BC. His story is told in Livy's 'Ab Urbe Condita' (written ca 27-25 BC).
The language facility seems to correspond to Carrie but after that encounter the demeanor is as far from her as can be imagined.
