ReplyDeleteLoyd Hutchings Carrie Campbell was a slightly RES aligned languages expert and xm sensitive. She died/was killed after exposure to a particular glyph sequence and her body discovered covered in glyphs. Did she know too much? Was she getting close to the real reason behind the Niantic Project? Did Calvin silence her?

ReplyDeleteSachith Maduranga an interesting proposition. Maybe the overall Abaddon outcome will be determined by 'total pips'? If so, IQTech Research had better clear up whether the shard anomalies definitely count towards the greater series or not!

ReplyDeleteSeems to be the amount of influence each of these individuals will have on the outcome of Abaddon. There could potentially be connected cells that will decide their fate and maybe bring back some of them.

ReplyDeleteWill the rankings mean different relative points for future shard? If they release all together after the flash shard game... ADA and dead people shards will be interesting, though I don't like The possibility to bring people to life again and again. Hairy or not 😝
ReplyDeleteAgain the corpses of Abaddon... I wonder why is ADA on the list, maybe those shards are truly memories fragments, so it would make sense to ADA have them... Or maybe this isn't about the shards?
ReplyDeletePragmatic Anomaly question: so is the point of the shard anomaly to bring together different pieces (shards) of different characters (to specific portals) in order to bring them back to life (Assembling them & later continuing in the ingress storyline).

ReplyDeleteJota C there was a brief reference to ADA 'loosing her human part' just before she went offline followed by 855 putting on a helmet in the control room. Was A Detection Algorithm all machine or did she have a biological component? Maybe it's this core element of ADA that is represented.
ReplyDeleteRichard Jennings that makes sense, since this "human part" is often remarked by H. Richard Loeb, maybe it's more than simply emotions and something truly biological then.

ReplyDeleteThe last log of ADA was attempts at finding new place to hide. Maybe she succeeded. ADA ran on Turing computers. That's important. A Turing computer is a computer able to perform Turing instructions. Laptops, mobile phones, even pen and paper are things that can be used to do Turing calculations. Any Turing computer can do the calculations of any other computer. Basically it means if one computer can do it, any other computer can be made do it, given enough time and memory.
ReplyDeletePerhaps ADA implemented a Turing system made of XM constructs, or somehow tapped into the process that preserved Herbert Farlowe. The interesting thing about him is he could mentally will himself better from injuries until he was compromised by CM. His body was more or a less a projection of his mind.
If ADA is operating as a similar construct, perhaps could project herself a body as well.
Prediction on Pips - The 4 that have one pip each will appear during the 4 Flash Shard events. The next 3 with three pips will be in the 3 sites on 11/4 (New Taipei) and the next 3 with four pips will be in the final 3 Abaddon sites on 12/2. I think the pips also convey some relative value in scoring, but just a guess.

ReplyDeleteThe prospect of a physical A Detection Algorithm is intriguing in principle maybe even terrifying. Beyond the philosophical potential, though, would the manifestation signal a huge catastrophic turning point? Does it blur the lines between human and machine for the rest of us?
ReplyDeleteJust last night I was listening to the Behind the Scanner show from the night ADA was taken from us. I hadn't noticed before that she says something about entering the N'zeer subspace (?) just before the signal cuts out.
ReplyDeleteI can only assume this to mean that she has moved beyond the need for physical hardware and entered the portal network, or some N'zeer equivalent. I also realized that Devra was there with her. Fascinating, although it's strange to not see her on the list here.

Jennifer Wolff - We already did shard events for Devra and Lightman... Perhaps because not all shards were recovered, they didn't make it out?
ReplyDeleteMichael Flood, yeah, I definitely assume this is relating to sharding, but why would ADA be sharded? Why would Jarvis (it took a Chaotic Matter weapon to do that to him last time)?
ReplyDeleteJarvis might be fragile from taking that hit, so he fell apart again easily (I wonder if the number of pieces will be the same). Also, we have 100 and 100 shard pcs in the scanner - how do these total up?
ReplyDeletemaybe the pips are a target of some kind - if we reach that target score a character of that value returns? (come back ADA we miss you!) Will see how the first flash shards go, but it sounds weird that ADA could be part of a shard game. Her last message seemed to suggest she was rebooting in some other network (or similar).

Jennifer Wolff It is possible that the first 4 will be "flash shard" events (sharded) but the ones in the main anomaly sites won't be "shards" but some other way "at stake" based on the site outcome.
