A Computer that became Obsessed: The truth about my rocky relationship with ADA.

A Computer that became Obsessed: The truth about my rocky relationship with ADA.

It goes without saying that I was utterly unaware of A Detection Algorithm’s role in the deaths of Roland Jarvis and the woman erroneously called Katalena.

After the events, I was questioned by NIA operatives and I saw pictures of her corpse.  That was not the woman I knew as Katalena. Beyond that, I can say nothing.  That was the point where I realized that I was drawn into something very dangerous, and given the nature of their ‘interview’ with me -- I realized that the detectives were absolutely clueless about the reality of the Niantic Project.

Pretty quickly, I realized that nobody knew all of it.  I honestly can’t remember whether it was before my ‘interview’ (aka interrogation), but ADA contacted me during this period and said that she wanted to get things out through me under the code-name P. A. Chapeau.  The original transcripts exist.  (Leaked not by me.)  I can’t remember whether it was my idea or hers, and don’t feel the need to check it out.

At that point, her mind and my mind were well synced. The separation between us would come later.  I didn’t see the love interest coming, but I should have. It just didn’t occur to me as anything more than an intellectual concept that a computer could fall in love. But then, when she hacked Klue S., I finally began to get the picture.

One thing I would like to avoid, probably for old fashioned reasons of chivalry, is any discussion of the relationship between Klue and I.

  1. Erroneously called Katalena? And you knew the genuine article who was paid to act as ADA's surrogate? Was the conviction at the assassination that Devra was not killed the first and biggest bit of Bowles' barium?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Whoa, whoa. Everything is now changed.

Have we been dealing with a recursed Devra all along?

    ReplyDelete
  3. According to the audio I heard, it was you that suggested working under the name of P.A. Chapeau. Or was that file doctored?

Are you deliberately redistributing altered information? Why? To see who catches it?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Layers within layers. So the death of Katalena was disinfo? Then ADA may still have a surrogate play available on the side.

There's a problem with the theory that Devra became a simulacrum: what Nest was used?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Typhoon Jim I began suspecting there was something more to Devra Bogdanovich after hearing her... struggle... to answer Klue S.'s questions regarding Arecibo.  It may be that many if not all of the Niantic sensitives were simulacrums prior to being recruited into the project.

  6. Come on man! Your holding out on us! There is more to Truthseeker then you are telling us! In the meeting between Klue and Susan it came out that you had done this before that something was buried at the heart of ADA. Most likely something, you as the puppet master, put there. For who or why, I can't work out yet!

Perhaps you are a a N'zeer cultist, I don't know but we in the Resistance have our eye on you!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Bill Robitske Sensitive = Simulacrum has been a theory bouncing around the hallowed halls of Essex ever since Recursion.

    ReplyDelete
  8. So after A Detection Algorithm sync with you, and after that with Klue S. still looking for someone else to host her. What is this entity taking from their former hosts? What other secrets you have IN you?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yea the Resistance only cares about winning even if winning means genocide.... They are the ultimate tools

    ReplyDelete
  10. Loyd Hutchings The Resistance do what seems best for humanity. The issue is that this can be an obvious path and one others can leech off for their own personal gains! Many of the paths we travel are not black or white, but a shade of grey!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Loyd Hutchings I can tell you, when I sleep at night, its not because my imaginary friends say I can, unlike the so called "Enlightened"!

    ReplyDelete
  12. omg... does A Detection Algorithm's tone turn incredibly creepy suddenly in that conversation with H. Richard Loeb.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Loyd Hutchings Your the one that brought up the matter of how I sleep! I am more interested in what the Puppet Master (aka PA) is up to and what end he is trying to accomplish when he is pulling all our strings!

  14. Thanks for locating the file, Mike Wissinger.

"I can't remember whether it was my idea or hers..."

    H. Richard Loeb that statement fits right in with your discussion in the mentioned audio file. "Forgetting" things to be able to live with yourself...

  15. The worst error was: Give it power to this AI, now, deal with is consequences

    ReplyDelete
  16. H. Richard Loeb remember at the start of the Niantic Project you claimed that you were trying to uncover the "truth" with the rest of us? Seems like you have been aware of the "truth" (or whatever it now is) all along... So how do you expect people to trust you from now on? Your hands are as dirty as all of the others...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Mike Wissinger I wonder how many other foreshadowings we have missed in old files...

    ReplyDelete
  18. At least this answers the claims of the Resistance that A Detection Algorithm hacked Klue S. to 'save her'.  Clearly we were right all along, and it was maliciousness on ADA's part to expose Klue to a sequence that would render her "ingressable".

I wonder if Klue S. will ever return to her enlightened understanding that the Resistance is not the path to freedom.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Bryant Moeller this is part of it (for some). If you don't like it, don't participate.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Loyd Hutchings The problem is, the Enlightened seem to be very elastic in avoiding any connections to uncomfortable things, vide the Acolyte: she appeared and suddenly people yell things like "I don't like the new leader and I'm going to be enlightened in my own way!". Same applies to Jarvis ("We don't like this obsessed guy, we‘d rather follow Hank instead!") or even the Shapers themselves ("We don't believe in them, they're NIA's creation because NIA wants to spread lies about the XM!").
Surprisingly, the same does not go for the Resistance who are automatically identified with and blamed for every bad or at least suspicious thing which happens on their side. How comfortable, how hypocritical.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Eliza Łucja mental elasticity is only possible when enlightened and is a sign for a fresh and good working organ, that unfortunately you don't have when not enlightened....

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jorge Steffen Avoiding difficult aspects of what you do is not mental elasticity, it's childish. And, oh, many Resistance agents don't agree with ADA or the N'zeer fans, but they at least have courage to admit that there are some tradeoffs of what they do. You just don't care to see it despite the fact that being "enlightened" should theoretically make people more open-minded.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Eliza Łucja We've been yelling "I'm going to be enlightened in my own way" since before Jarvis was resurrected.

Its immobile, inflexible Resistance who don't seem to grasp that.  Good to see you're flexible enough to recognise when the opposition is saying something (finally).

I've asked the Resistance time and time again, to prove a single of their claims about the Shapers.  To date, the only justification is "The Niantic Project said so", and given the lies, treachery, and outright lunacy coming out of people like Calvin... you're gonna need more than that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Eliza Łucja And until ADA revealed her true colours, the Resistance as a general group was wholeheartedly behind her 'protection'.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Brent Hollett Not only the NIA or the Niantic Project, but also Jarvis acknowledged their existence, they just differ in attitude towards them.
The Resistance was generally supporting ADA because they didn't know what she is like. Same can happen to you one day. It happens to everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Eliza Łucja if you'd read discussions 'back in the day', Jarvis is yet another product of the Niantic Project, who just misread the script and thought the "Shapers" were nice.  Calvin's conspiracy to manage the masses by convincing them to shut down portals out of fear has taken root quite well, but not everyone is willing to be a sheeple.

The Enlightened have been demanding our own freedom of choice since the conflict began, and assess each pronouncement of the involved parties on its own merits.  Jarvis has never been our leader, by his own admission, he merely represented one path to Enlightenment.  Those who chose to follow him were welcome to it.

When the Resistance figures stop telling us what we believe, and who we follow, you might begin to understand our point of view, and the massive diversity of our loose membership.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Brent Hollett But which is ADA's true color? Is it blue? Is it green - or a third color after all?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Brent Hollett My point is that you are diverse and I do realize it, but some Enlightened seem not to realize that there is also some diversity among the Resistance.
Moreover, by creating your control fields, you still support, like it or not, the shades of green you don't ideologically agree with and you need to accept it instead of saying "we fight for the Enlightenment, but it's a thing everyone understands on their own".

    ReplyDelete
  29. Did you guys realize that you could switch words and make the same argument?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Markus R ADA's stance is "Humans are irrelevant, the new breed of hybrids is all that matters".

Eliza Łucja I tried for ages to get Resistance who openly condemmed ADA and what she did, and it wasn't until her complete scheme was revealed that people even questioned her motives.

Bit late nowto argue that "We didn't like what she was doing" with the N'zeer war machine on its way.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Brent Hollett Actually, ADA is afraid of the N'zeer.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Eliza Łucja Then she shouldn't have maneuvered everyone in to activating their beacons...  No pity when its the Enlightened who have to clean up your messes.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Brent Hollett I believe, I'm not a right recipent of this comment. I stopped understanding ADA's twisted ways a pretty while ago.

  34. Can anyone on here help me find a way to learn this storyline. But its all over google . making it hard to understand.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Start with the Niantic Project Files ebooks, available on Play.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Typhoon Jim is there any way to get hard copies?

    ReplyDelete
  37. No, they haven't been published. A shame, really.

    ReplyDelete
  38. brett WonderBread Depending on how far you want to go back, checking out http://www.nainticproject.com on a PC can give you a great base in the conspiracy.  Thats were the first documents were leaked.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It's definitely a more interesting way to get a hold of early stuff but it's a little cluttered. The ebooks are good for reference.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh, that's right Typhoon Jim, I was thinking about the "novels."  Those reference books are pretty cool.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yeah they reminded me of a ton of early stuff which was mysterious at the time but we now know the meaning of. there are certain Lost style "throw five hundred weird things in a pile and dig one out so it looks like we meant to do that" (I call these tropical polar bears) but I'm pretty convinced that the meat of the story (Darsana and Shonin being the most critical event arcs) was indeed planned all along.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Typhoon Jim Daniel Beaudoin  thanks. ^_^ i want to get the e books. but i cant use those at work. i can read a book or mag. but cant have my cell or tablet =/

  43. The more H. Richard Loeb changes his story (and contradicts events I clearly remember), the less I feel any of us can trust him. In particular I'm bothered by his declaring his "relationship" with Klue off-limits for discussion. As I recall from all the leaked conversations between them, he was smitten with her, but she always appeared ambivalent toward him at best. ADA picked Klue to ingress, specifically to give her to Loeb as a present, to win his affection through the body of his unrequited love. The fact that he has many times since referred to her as his "girlfriend" is creepy beyond my ability to ignore.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The First & Foremost it is indeed possible that Loeb isn't (and hasn't been) intentionally lying, but that some outside force has been manipulating his awareness. In that case, I'd still be disinclined to trust him at his word.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Daniel Hawley regarding the changes to his story:

First he presented himself as an outside party who happened upon Ben Jackland's videos and did some digging to find out the truth. Months later, it was revealed that he'd been directly involved with the Niantic project, at which point he claimed to have been uncomfortable with a lot of what happened, and started the so-called "investigation board" to get the truth out there to the world. Then it was revealed that he had been involves in designing/programming ADA, along with an audio recording in which he asked her to erase all references to his name.

So when he says now that it was ADA's idea to leak information to him (contradicting his earlier claims that he'd done it out of a personal regret for his part in the project), and to do so under a pseudonym (which was also done at his own request)...

    There is another possibility.

When he met with ADA-in-Klue's-body in a hidden shack somewhere, he disappeared for some time thereafter. This was during the same time that ADA was using the Resistance victories during (Helios?) to pattern large amounts of humanity. Then Loeb showed up again, but his manner of writing was totally different. Sloppy, full of typos and grammatical errors, when it had always been meticulous before. That was also when he started calling Klue his girlfriend. His writing has gotten progressively cleaner since then, and his manner has come to more closely approximate his old "question everything" style... much like how ADA-prime once told ADA-K that she was getting better at imitating Klue's "manner of articulation."

Is it possible that H. Richard Loeb is now an incarnation of ADA as well? That would explain a great many things, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Daniel Hawley unfortunately I'm better at remembering content than sources... The resources I'd need are there, but it takes more time than I usually have to dig through it. Doesn't mean I won't or can't, but it usually takes me a while to get around to it.
