Any updates on Devra?
Any updates on Devra? Unless I'm very wrong, there is a hell of a confrontation coming between Farlowe and Smith. Unless, of course, she's already dead, but I think we'd know it. I feel bad even thinking it, but I'm kind of fascinated by the idea of a Farlowe Smith match-up. The last one with 855 was pretty good if The Niantic Project: Ingress account was accurate. In some ways, it's XM versus Chaotic Matter.
And speaking of 855. Last we saw of him, he and Bowles vanished into the ether. It's occurred to me that Bowles might be behind Ada's issues. Its also occurred to me that he might be dead. 855 tried to waste me once.
But the ball to keep the eye on is Devra. The only way I can interpret the current situation is that Ni wants Devra alive and Smith wants her dead.
And what about Fan? Alive or dead? I don't have a bet.

Not going to lie, didn't consider the idea of Bowles being behind ADA's blind spots. I'm curious though-did he do it to help Klue or was it on 855's orders? He's been seriously quiet for a long time.
ReplyDeleteFan's a gamble. Hwang died from the Devra incident so it's hard to tell if she'll pull through.
I'm not ashamed to see a Hubert Farlowe vs. Smith showdown. Ni told Smith to stand down, he didn't. Time to see the consequences.
If Smith is in the same social club as Zeke and Jahan do you think he might have arranged the timing of Dr. B's capture to take Farlowe out if play while they make their moves at Peshawar?
ReplyDeleteFan is not dead. She might not be alive either. Depends on your definition on what's living and what's human. As how would you define Hank Johnson's and Roland Jarvis existence.

I often wonder what happened to Victor Kureze and Jarvis body and what mark Hank rubbed off when he found the bodies. Is this something similar?

ReplyDeleteWith 855 and Bowles, we've not heard about either since the information Felicia Hajra-Lee shared in Level 8. Many of us have wondered about 855, he seemed bent on revenge and then we heard nothing. Usually someone as intent as was described in Level 8, does not just drop things or sit by idly. It will be interesting to see where/when each of them surface.

ReplyDeleteMustafa Said she is a Boss-level character, and I am sure she is aware of risks involved in XM research and has the full suite of Hulong Transglobal resources to inoculate herself, or would have developed some form of affinity with XM via ambient exposure.
ReplyDeleteDerek Longbow True about her having Hulong resources. But no one knew what Devra Bogdanovich was capable of doing at the moment of the incident so I don't believe the idea of her having the tools to deal with something like this.
ReplyDeleteMustafa Said or maybe what Devra Bogdanovich unleashed was the missing piece that Catherine needed to advance her personal evolution/transmutation. But doesn't mean the transformation process won't be traumatic.
ReplyDeleteI think Devra Bogdanovichis safe... For now, Smith is smart enough to know that killing her at this moment would mean is death also. But I think that the Dr need to come public with whatever information she has on the dark XM and the n'zeer!

JoJo Stratton the idea of Kureze as an antimagnus conspirator attempting a failed N'Zeer conversion of Jarvis hadn't occurred to me. Hence the focus on the nest instead of the vessel if it's true.
ReplyDeleteNot to imply that this isn't a serious situation, but if Farlowe and Smith do face off, I hope someone leaks some video footage of it. That's a fight I'd really want to see.

ReplyDeleteH. Richard Loeb Its always been my belief that you know exactly where Henry Bowles is... After 855 parted ways with the NIA he was of no threat to you. And you are no stranger to using misdirection.

You needed Bowles. With the two of you working together, ADA is powerless to be used against you. 855 is your protection. Carrie Campbell is still alive, and Misty Hannah is on your side as well. Those two ladies are two thirds of a very important trio. There's only one thing missing to complete that trio, the "key" she was once called, and that's Klue S.
Klue is on her way home. The real question is what is your end game once the team is complete?
Devra is now a XM wraith. You will see...
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing Fan as a trump card in all of this. We don't invest much in her, which makes it that much more intriguing if this event proves to be a turning point. It was either Fan's turning point, or her story is now over and it's actually Ni's turning point.

ReplyDeleteYou gave me an idea. Maybe Smith doesn't want to kill her. Maybe he has another agenda. A personal one. Then again, I had another link. Suppose Smith was the redacted person Jahan was talking to when Hank was funneled through Pune. It could give a fascinating spin to Anti-Magnus.
ReplyDeleteGoing from your comment here and your other post H. Richard Loeb - We saw that Jarvis was recharged, but then that was only a temporary thing. We have documents that OLW was working on a way to "cure" Smith's Chaotic Matter Syndrome. I often wonder if the one patient Hollis mentioned was suffering from something similar.
ReplyDeleteIs Smith trying to use Devra? If she is able to channel dark XM just like Hubert Farlowe was a walking XM fountain (as mentioned in Felicia Hajra-Lee book) - then yes - he might be trying to - I wonder - is Smith a dark XM/Chaotic matter Vampire?????
That's an interesting idea H. Richard Loeb, and it make sense, could he could make contact with the n'zeer when he was contaminated with dark XM, could that make him the contrary to Farlowe?
