Now its time to flip the cards.
Now its time to flip the cards... What about the organization referred to as Anti-Magnus? Who are they? Why do we hear so little about them? Have we ever met one of them? If so, who? Is Anti-Magnus a mirror of 13MAGNUS? What’s their agenda other than to defeat 13MAGNUS? That seems kind of limited. Well, I guess every sports team exists to defeat other sports teams so that’s not that weird, but these guys seem to be playing for very high stakes.
Not to defeat 13Magnus--but to steal or somehow obtain the knowledge they hold.
ReplyDeleteVery high stakes indeed. It seems that every time someone talks about Zeke Calvin he's on the other side of the 13Magnus / Anti-Magnus divide. Do we truly know what the goals of either group are?
ReplyDeleteUnless they are ideologically opposed to what 13MAGNUS stands to accomplish. It's not as though 13MAGNUS have a clear mission statement though.
ReplyDeleteA comment Hank recently made seems to imply that ANTIMAGNUS is to 13MAGNUS as the Resistance is to the Enlightened. Details are scarce, but everything seems to be tied up in how the portals/XM is used through the ages.
ReplyDeleteAnti magnus makes me laugh
ReplyDeleteThere's not currently enough to go by, other than their name, which implies an opposition to 13Magnus. Either they want to take and hide/destroy 13Magnus's knowledge, or they want to diseminate it.
ReplyDeletePotentially they could also be the ones being hunted by 13Magnus, and are trying to keep dangerous information from them.
We need so much more information.
ReplyDeleteI originally believe antimagnus was a rogue element that intermittently appeared within the 13 magnus cabal itself: a recursive immortal who, upon realizing his nature, acts to end the cycle or expose its secrets. Comments made by key players since the Helios beacon became active seem to indicate it is indeed a separate group, though. They were believed to have erased the glyphs from Cueva del Indio near Aricebo and were hinted at by Hank after his disappearance filming the nest incursion. Beyond an assumed affinity for the N'Zeer as a potential counterpoint to the entity we're calling the shapers I'm not sure we have a lot of other facts on them.
ReplyDeleteAnti-Magnus is probably a splinter group from the original Magnus. Its sole purpose in life is to counter whatever the original group is doing. Perhaps a group symmetricalLy opposed to 13Magnus but adopting the same modus operandi.
ReplyDeleteKinda different from Enlightened and Resistance - they are asymmetrical, and whose interests may converge.
I agree mostly with Yik Sheng Lee but Martin Schubert theory was also correct since the artifacts did heal the portal network. I would say that he isn't involved on the anti-magnus stuff, he was manipulated like everyone else.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely brilliant analysis from all of you. Yik Sheng Lee 's analysis gives us all a great deal to ruminate on. The question I am pondering is at exactly what point one knows that they are Magnus or Anti-Magnus. Or are some unwittingly members of these groups without ever knowing it, exactly? It seems that some know and others don't. They find themselves pulled to certain places and things, but do not know why.
ReplyDeleteEdgar Allan Wright do we have agency? or are we all pre-destined to deliver an act?
ReplyDeleteThere's still a question: is the n'zeer and the Darsana Point and what they bring actually bad? The only input we've had on that is fairly biased.
